Tintero, Puerto Rico Comic Con, And More!

Hey, I'm back! Just wanted to put up a quick update of some of the things I've been up to so far this year.

I participated in a local one-day arts and comics festival for independent artists residing in Puerto Rico called Tintero: Festival de Cómics y Arte Independiente de Puerto Rico. Over 40 artists had tables for this event and each were specially picked to be in this. It was an amazing day.

Each artist made a profile for the event as promotion for the artists who were participating. Here's my profile (its' in Spanish).

An article was made to promote the event on the local newspaper. My cat dude appeared on the first page!

Here he is again joined with other cool artists' works.

I made shirts to sell at the event!

And here I am, smiling on the outside but super exhausted on the inside.

Another thing I participated in was Puerto Rico Comic Con 2014. Another great experience. I learned so much and met lots of great and interesting people. Can't wait to do it again.

Here's the banner I designed for my booth.

Here's a second banner to attract more people to my booth.

Here's a kids shirt design I made to sell at the con.

And here I am at my booth!

I also did two comics for two comic anthology books made by local artist pals Rosa Colón and Carla Rodríguez (Soda Pop Comics) and Luis Jefté Lacourt (Funny Fish Fountain Comics). One is called (A)diós by Luis and the other is Ehpoty: Antología de Comics by Rosa, Carla and Luis.

They're now doing a double book tour to promote the books in Puerto Rico, visiting local comic and book shops. For those living or visiting Puerto Rico in the summer go to their websites now to find out the areas and dates!

Here's a preview of the comic I did for (A)diós.

And here's a preview of the comic in Ehpoty: Antología de Comics.

You can purchase (A)diós HERE and Ehpoty: Antología de Comics HERE.

Another thing I did was my very first comic book starring Zad Zak & Angree Dandee! Here's the cover of the comic along with previews of what's inside:

You can buy this comic at my Etsy store now! I did an English version and a Spanish version of the comic. Here are the links where you can buy them:

Here's A REALLY NICE REVIEW done of me and my art done by the ever so awesome Joshua Marchant!

Here's a Medusa illustration I did a while back:

Here's an inked and colored animation of an old rough walk cycle:

Inked by me and colored by Maira Vergara!

A couple of sketch cards I did for fun:

And lastly, here are some birthday drawings I did for cartoon pals...

2013 Art Dump!

Man, it's been FOREVER since I've posted something here! Time to dust off the cobwebs...

Well, I'm back! Back and alive, and I'm still doing the one thing I love to do the most: CARTOONS!

I wanted to show what I've been up to throughout this year of 2013, and since it's New Years Eve I thought now would be an appropriate time to show you what I've done!

It's gonna be a lengthy post of just my art and don't want to get into too much detail on each drawing/illustration, so I'll try to keep it brief. Hopefully some don't need too much explaining and are maybe pretty self-explanatory.

So here it goes:

something done for a website

for a local food-themed art show

for a local Marvel-themed art show

for a local geek-themed art show

variant cover for Craig Yoe and IDW Publishing

animation I did that's part of my short film

for a local music-themed art show

poster for a local music show
I also got interviewed for doing this (it's in Spanish, but can be translated using Google Chrome), which you can read here:

coaster art I made (bottom right)

serial killer Ed Gein (made for Halloween)

for a local trading card show

 for a local Christmas event/party

practice drawing before the Christmas event/party

 Seuss drawing study comparison

And that's it! There's other things I could have put up, like personal drawings and secret/unfinished work that I can't show for now or I felt was unnecessary to show.

Anyway, I hope you like what I've done! I'm gonna try my hardest to post more on this blog, and also try and make some new changes to it.

See you in 2014!!!

Last Drawings of 2012!

So 2012 is coming to an end and thought I'd put up the last couple of illustrations I didn't put up here yet from this year.

Here's a design I did to try and make t-shirts out of for a local art sale that was happening in Puerto Rico, but unfortunately wasn't able to make some in time for the event. I do plan to make it into t-shirts though for another future art sale and to sell online.

Here's the painting I did for Pernicious Press' Maladjusted Monsters: Cyclops book I mentioned here a little while back. Made with gouache on cold press watercolor paper.

And here's the rough sketch used to make the painting.

Well, I'd say this year has been really good to me, but kind of crazy at the same time. I've managed to get a lot of stuff done this year that I'm pretty proud of doing. Not as much as I wanted to, but I've got a new year to look forward to to continue on with my plans. I've learned a lot of really great and interesting things and hope to continue learning more in the next year. Hope everyone has a super and safe New Years!! Thanks for watching and I'll see you all in 2013!!!
